The ever hazy and shifting identity of Psychedelic Horseshit will take yet another unexpected turn, this time in the form of.. structure? On May 10 they're releasing their new Laced LP, where we'll be hearing a cleaner, far more electronic sound than their previous work. Recorded in basements and living rooms on reel-to-reel, the Columbus duo are keeping their lo-fi aesthetic while breaking new ground in the style department.
Sticking true to themselves and shrugging off genres, Psychedelic Horseshit have always striven for individuality in a scene where style recycles at light-speed. Laced captures their perma-fried soundscapes in a clearer lens, at times even feeling like a dance record. After their first astoundingly prolific five years of creation, we'll find them settling in while stretching out. Certain to make waves, I expect Laced to be one of the years most talked about albums.
