Two generations, one line-up of a lifetime. Sleater-Kinney have announced that this fall they will welcome Waxahatchee on their US tour in December. Waxahatchee’s Katie Crutchfield will be in the midst of her own North American tour with Kurt Vile when she jumps ship to join the seminal riot grrrl band in Indianapolis before heading back east to New York. Waxahatchee is touring in support of her April LP, Ivy Tripp. Likewise, Sleater Kinney has been continuing the victory lap for their reunion release, No Cities to Love, from earlier this year.
Sleater-Kinney and Waxahatchee will start their tour together on December 4 at the Egyptian Room in Indianapolis, before making their way through the Midwest to Buffalo. Sleater Kinney tweeted that they are excited to announce the supporting act with a link to their remaining tour dates, including their five New York City-area shows. The Waxahatchee tour dates, however, do not mention the NYC shows, so we’re still unsure if Crutchfield will be joining them for the tour-ending Market Hotel show.
