Wonderfront Festival reveals schedule & map

Post Author: Jeff Cubbison

San Diego festival will feature 12 stages spread across several picturesque downtown spots

The inaugural Wonderfront Music & Arts Festival – taking place November 22-24 – has unveiled its music schedule and site map – which shows stages that will be spread across multiple adjacent downtown venues, including Seaport Village, North Embarcadero Park, and Ruocco Park, among other spots.

The KUSI and Stella Artois stages will alternate at Seaport Village and will feature acts such as Miguel, Migos, Big Gigantic, and Vince Staples. Meanwhile, the C3 and Uncle Ed’s D*mn Good Vodka stages will alternate at Seaport Village with acts like Ben Harper & the Innocent Criminals, MGMT, and Walk The Moon in tow. Tony Hawk’s Huck Jam will grace the SDG&E stage at Ruocco Park along with legendary punk acts like X, The Vandals, Pennywise, and Suicidal Tendencies. Meanwhile, the Univisión & Estrella Jalisco stage at Hilton Bayfront Park will include a number of Latin and World Music acts such as Los Angeles Azules, Los Tucanes de Tijuana, CNCO, and Zion & Lennox. There’s also five “Activation Stages” featuring dozens of smaller, independent or local acts.

Downtown San Diego has long been without a large-scale, multi-genre music festival. Ever since Street Scene’s untimely demise, a smattering of genre-focused fests including CRSSD have taken place at Waterfront Park, while KAABOO popped up in Del Mar ( although that fest is relocating to Petco Park next year). Wonderfront looks like a perfect bet to bring back that laid-back street festival vibe that San Diegans have long been craving. And with brand ambassadors like Tony Hawk, Rob Machado, and Trevor Hoffman onboard, it’s certainly captured that buzz.

Also, it will definitely be interesting to see how the layout for this fest plays out. Concertgoers have the option of hopping from stage to stage by either boat or trolley, although the stages themselves appear to be within walking vicinity. Downtown’s cultural amenities, along with the fest’s picturesque waterfront location, will definitely conjure a special live experience. You can check out full set times, maps, ticketing options, and other details over on the festival’s website.
