Upset, “Oxfords and Wingtips”

New Jersey punk label Don Giovanni Records just hosted a fun free party in New Brunswick this past weekend with a solid chunk of their hefty lineup, and fresh off the good party vibes and celebration, they've announced their next big-time release, a three-piece pop-punk outfit called Upset. Upset is the trio of our dreams, made up of Best Coast/Vivian Girls' former drummer Ali Koehler, Hole's Patty Schemel, and guitarist Jenn Prince, and their first track, the terse and to-the-point “Oxfords and Wingtips” is a gently moving poppunk 90s throwback. Utilizing some of the similar Vivian Girls' shoegaze but not eschewing Best Coast or Hole's approachable melodies, Upset is a power trio beyond even what we could dream up.

Their debut record, She's Gone, releases through Don Giovanni on October 29. Expect tour dates to follow.
