The Decemberists @ Humphrey’s Concerts By The Bay

Beloved indie rock band made crowds swoon at picturesque San Diego venue

Last week, the beloved indie rock band The Decemberists performed a stunning set that made crowds swoon at the picturesque San Diego venue Humphrey’s Concerts By The Bay. Playing against the backdrop of San Diego Harbor to a packed crowd – one that included quite a few non-paying spectators looking on from boats and zodiacs in marina – the Portland group delivered a career-spanning set that included several tracks off their great recent album that dropped earlier this year, As It Ever Was, So It Will Be Again.

They also performed some of their most loved songs, including “The Sporting Life” off 2005’s Picaresque, “The Queen’s Rebuke/The Crossing” off 2009’s The Hazards Of Love, “Burying Davy” off 2011’s The King Is Dead, and many other classics. The band was in tight form and clearly fed off the intoxicating atmosphere of the crowd and the venue. Closing out their set with recent track “Joan in the Garden,” The Decemberists left fans swooning. Feel free to scroll through and soak up the magic below.
