L.A. power pop trio shares amazing animated video for recent album highlight

Earlier this year, Los Angeles power pop band River Gods released their excellent sophomore LP Let Me Live. The album was an 18-minute blast of catchy hooks and tight songwriting, with short and sweet anthems running the full gamut of millennial angst. And today, they’re sharing an amazing new animated video for album highlight “Sun Potion.”

“Sun Potion” is a jangly and buoyant slice of alternative pop rock with nimble, swooning guitar riffs and singalong choruses. The video clip – directed by MA-based painter and animator Paris Baillie – underscores the track’s emotions with joyous visual aplomb. Colorful, eye-popping doodles come to life with minimalistic ease. A few highlights: floating oranges spliced with living room couches, ghosts whirring effortlessly through the sky, and the band’s cartooned selves performing on a billboard in a downtown cityscape. It’s pure eye and ear candy through and through.

River Gods’ Let Me Live is out now via Dadstache Records. You can purchase that album HERE, and watch the video for “Sun Potion” below.
