The Coathangers, who wrote one of history's best songs about Derek, unveiled the first single from their forthcoming record today, a clobbering screecher of a track, “Follow Me”. If this is The Coathangers' plea to get us to join their cult, may we find the closest Kool Aid and throw it down our gullets. The song uses a pleasantly repetitive guitar stomp and drum hit to backdrop a raspy battle cry, and it's full of garagey scuzz and punk fervor. One could imagine hearing this played at a sweaty basement show where the crowd has a plentiful does of rage to spare. Allow it to guide you through this fucking snow shitstorm.
