Bell Orchestre at Le Poisson Rouge

The peak of American public interest in Montreal’s Bell Orchestre probably centered around their 2005 tour with Arcade Fire and the resulting performance at Summer Stage (not to mention the delayed release of their first album, Recording a Tape the Colour of the Light).

Their supple follow up, As Seen Through Windows, explores the same indie soundtrack ruminations, as well as patches of controlled chaos and an overall greater dynamic range. It saw a March 2009 release on Arts & Crafts, and a recent show at the West Village’s Le Poisson Rouge.
