On Saturday, May 3rd, Brooklyn Museum's First Saturday event celebrated “Art and Activism” (in conjunction with their excellent Ai Weiwei According to What? exhibit that closes in August 2014) with free sets by JD Samson (with Tammy Hart and Lorna Dune) and rapper Jean Grae. JD Samson & MEN's performance found a very young, enthusiastic audience dancing in front of the stage that thankfully ignored lyrical content while Ms. Grae encouraged the seated members of the crowd to stand, dance, sing along and raise their hands in the air during her songs.
