There are songs we probably all listen to and appreciate their cinematic quality. There are electrifying junctures of electronic maven JOYRYDE’S “NEW BREED” track that seem perfect for a chase scene – so he took it upon himself to do just that in the video. The producer wrote and edited the thrilling visual and co-directed it with John Ford.
LA-based rhymer Darnell Williams rhymes on “New Breed” about the fruits of his indie grind, and the characters onscreen recite the lyrics in the midst of a tense guns-drawn scene. While the track’s shrieky synths and thumping 808s permeate, the action clip leads us to a mysterious dungeon that’s sure to stoke the suspicions of any freeze-framing conspiracy theorist who may come across it.
