Sometimes, you know a good thing when you see it. Oakland-based art-pop group Makeunder – comprised of Hamilton Ulmer, Samantha York, Van Jackson-Weaver, Mario Godoy, Jill Heinke, John Doing, and Carolyn Walter – is a good thing, and we can hear it and see it, thanks to an amazing new video that was created with the help of artist Carine Khalife. She is the one responsible for creating the moving painting that is the music video for Makeunder’s track “Great Headless Blank”.
This video is phenomenal. Its rich, vibrant hues almost pop out of the screen at you. Carine captured the emotion of the song quite perfectly, as the video is in constant motion and you don’t feel like you have a bearing on yourself while watching it. This sentiment is reflective of the topic the song was written about, a feeling of being broken evoked in both. It’s a bittersweet depiction of an upbeat, but melancholic, song.
Great Headless Blank EP is out October 14th via Good Eye Records. It is available for preorder now.
