In a video for Midnight Davis' "In The Mood For Love", the already sinister undertones are heightened by an eerie mask, bloody hands, and a track that undulates ominously. Whether sadomasochism is your thing or you find the dominatrix subset offensive, it is fascinating to see how someone might get off on being restrained and prevented from touching the goods enough to feel satisfied. It's a beautifully subtle and crisply shot video that feels like a visit into the upscale underground that still gets low with the weirdness. It's not exactly not safe for work, but it's still troubling for those who keep it a little more innocent.
