San Francisco experimental artist, Never Knows, delivers us the first taste of his full-length due out way down the road in spring of next year. He does so in the form of video, experimenting with VHS interference to create a dreary kaleidoscope of his own face smeared with light waves and static. Just as dense as the video itself, the track, "Still Life," fills out a sonic landscape with dark and ominous tension between the synth sounds and spine-tingling vocals. As the music eerily combined with spinning waves I found myself looking over my shoulder more than once upon first viewing.
The special edition Still Life 7" is out November 2013 on Sleep Genius.
