Brooklyn based band The Olympians have released their first video off their self-titled debut on Daptone Records. “Sirens of Jupiter” is one track of an eleven song album that borrows titles from names of Greek and Roman deities, which is very appropriate since the sound of The Olympians is glorious.
Against the backdrop of black and white video of bygone Olympic games, “Sirens of Jupiter” is a track that could have been popular in any number of decades, most notably the 60’s and 70’s. The 13 musicians that make up The Olympians play all the instruments – drums, horns, strings, percussion, guitar, harp and even a jazz flute – that create the perfect instrumental song. “Sirens of Jupiter” would be equally at home in a movie soundtrack or a Nike commercial. Or on your home stereo.
The Olympians is out now.
