Sans Temps Morts: Monday November 17, 2008

Live without dead time on Monday with Extreme Violence, Smarts, Stupid Party, Little Joy, Tiger City, Eagles of Death Metal. Sans Temps Morts is Nate Dorr’s daily New York City events guide.

Extreme Violence, Silk Flowers, Smarts, Stupid Party at Cake Shop, 152 Ludlow St. btwn Stanton and Rivington, LES. 21+. 8pm doors, $6.

At Whartscape this year, epinephrine-spiking Baltimore punk trio Smarts played almost their entire set on top of a car. And it was good! What more could you need then that?

FREE: Strokes drummer Fabrizio Moretti is now playing simple retro-tropic pop as Little Joy. You probably already know this, and you probably also know that the Strokes have been somewhat lackluster lately. This isn't a huge improvement, but it is free at the Union Square Virgin Megastore. All Ages. 7pm. But getting there early seems advisable.

+Eagles of Death Metal (who have a new album, and are still probably a lot of fun) and the Duke Spirit at Bowery Ballroom, 6 Delancey Street at Bowery, LES. 18+. 8pm doors, $20.
+Tigercity, Glint, Apache Beat, and Mixel Pixel at Gramercy Theatre, 127 East 23rd Street btwn Park and Lexington. 16+. 7pm doors, $7.
