Bad Cop
Nashville’s Bad Cop keeps the good fight raging onward & upward with the stunning single “Dreamer Man” featured off an upcoming new album where Adam Moult continues to develop the BC sound into something that sounds larger than life. At this point Bad Cop has obtained the badge of honor from putting in work, transcending the festival circuit, proving themselves as mainstays, gifting the world with releases like The Light On EP, Wish You Well…and Goodbye EP, the recent single “Ain’t From Here” and more with their friends on the imprint Jeffery Drag Records that Moult has nurtured into a beloved Southern imprint. Recovering from the devastating loss of guitarist Alex Hartness, Adam keeps the memory alive & burning bright with a sound that illustrates a re-affirmation of life & newfound enthusiasm that embraces both reality as strong as the dreams that we chase as humans in our crazy semi-charmed kinda existences.
Bad Cop’s “Dreamer Man” provides paradigms of Nashville party people hanging out in hills, dabbling in pills where delusional dreams of illusion chasing obfuscate reality. The obscured & blurred visions are illustrated in cautionary tales where hedonism is entertained with an attitude of understanding that paints causes/effects/symptoms & more with the largest Bad Cop production heard yet. Adam Moult pulls out all the stops where all the big blazing chords are joined by horns & a big ensemble sounding backup that will bedazzles while promotes health, wellness & balance at the same time. “Dreamer Man” is Bad Cop emerging from life’s rollercoaster wreckages where the choice to reckon dreams with the gravity of reality provides a chance for the wildest aspirations to reach previously unknown atmospheric levels. This sentiment is echoed in a sound that is a very upbeat sign of great things soon to follow from Bad Cop.
Bad Cop’s Adam Moult provided the following reflections about the new single & new directions:
“Dreamer Man” was written in the depths of the storm. We had come off of an amazing year after releasing The Light On EP and hit heavy times after coming home from tour. Something about winter and having nothing locked in can make a band wander into places they should never be to begin with. What brought us back to reality was taking a break, remembering why we love music, and trying to make songs that will never die. Songs that make people feel, and help them, as they’ve helped us. Sometimes when reality is too dark, you can choose the sun. Walk towards the light, and dream. Sometimes that’s all you got, and sometimes it can save you from yourself.
