Meet San Deigo’s Well Well Well, a psyched-out group comprised of founding members of Barbarian where keyboardist, synthesist, percussionist Dan Nichols & guitarist/vocalist Seton Edgerton present us with a listen to their trippy/surfy debut EP What Do We Have Here?. The title track sets the tide, the mental matters of “Break In My Mind”, the lakeside outing of “Brunch Lake”, to the haunted & bossy “While You Were Sleeping” & the comedic schmaltz number “Met This Woman”. Traces of the vintage Barbarian sound can be heard on “Jackets”, or “Please”, the police & thieves punk of “Cops & Robbers”, the hapless & heartbroken romanticism & yearning on “More Than Love”, right before closing with the comical-classic wiseguys cracks on the closing quip of “Work Here is Finished”.

Well Well Well provided us with the following introduction to their EP:

Our debut EP What Do We Have Here? can best be described as Easy Listening for Uneasy People. I would consider the EP to have the traits of neo-psychedelia & garage pop but not take itself too seriously. The song are mostly short and sweet and straight to the point but after further listening the lyrical dark side surfaces. Our band Barbarian was on hiatus so Dan and I put together some ideas we’ve had around but never recorded. The album comes with dialogue skits, typical to a 90s hip-hop album, between Jim and Gary to help guide the listener along the What Do We Have Here? experience.

The songwriting process was quick and Dan has a particularly remarkable talent of playing drums and keyboards at the same time. Live we are able to recreate the EP and give the audience something they most likely have never seen before.

We are in pre-production for a full length and are looking to get some really talented and influential artists in Los Angeles to get involved.
