LEX
Following up the beloved single “Dedicated”, Anchorage’s own LEX presents the premiere of “Right & Wrong” that sorts out the best of bonds with the best of peoples at the worst possible moments. The Alaskan artist adheres to the golden era of rhythm & blues from the 1990s & adds a more introspective & ambient air to the equation. “Right & Wrong” weighs the pros & cons in a way that is honest, yet conflicted, portraying all the complicated details that make some of the greatest catches the hard to release back into the wild. Through the confusions, trials & errors; LEX separates emotions & reactionary knee-jerk impulses to discern exactly who & what they want & when.
LEX’s “Right & Wrong” calibrates the rhythm & blues scope to hone in on the exchanges & inquiries of requited & unrequited connections of desire & affection. The feeling of finding the proverbial right person at the wrong time illustrates that in game of love & war timing truly is everything. The production keeps the introspective aspect of the single on a level that is both meditative & on the move as LEX’s thought process are channeled lyrically with the conscious streams of questioning is this real, or just for fun, is it forever, or infatuation, say you feel where I’m coming from, it’s too much for me to take at once, so I got to keep moving, yeah I got to keep moving… The feeling of falling head over heels into an amazing relationship amid the chaos & uncertainty of life’s events all happening simultaneously stirs senses of doubt in even the the most incredible of amorous attachments. LEX paints the lamentations with sensational care that operates like a contemporary lover’s rock jam that croons misgivings in a manner that is both romantic & mutually respectful.
LEX shared some exclusive insights on the inspirations that informed the quandaries of “Right & Wrong”:
Have you ever met the right person at the wrong time? Making a strong connection with that person but the timing was off? But you’re chasing your dreams so that’s what the main focus is & you don’t want any distractions.
