The ever-swirling national music community continues to double-down on itself, proliferating friendships and respect across boundaries and coasts, and in the case of Criminal Code, this Tacoma band is making waves all the way over on these Brooklyn's shores. “No Device”, the startling post-punk track that titles their debut record, is harsh and severe, never relenting with its anthemic battle cry for a lack of interconnectivity. The true highlight here is the tight-punched drums that push the track forward to its clattering end.
