Curren$y's follow-up to approved theft Covert Coup EP with Alchemist will not have production by Ski Beatz, which is a major bummer. Now for the good news. Curren$y is dropping his new (street) album and official Warner Brother's debut Weekend At Burnie's on June 28. Besides possibly having the greatest pot-album title ever, the record is produced entirely by Monsta Beatz (save for one track) who blessed Spitta with the beat for “Roasted” from Pilot Talk. Here's hoping the album references Andrew McCarthy, partying with dead millionaires, speedboats, using dead millionaires as paddle boats and like the film series, there's a Weekend At Burnie's II. Especially since the sequel will undoubtedly involve voodoo and buried treasure – #canthardlywait.
The track that is not produced by Monsta is the recently leaked “#JetsGo”, which was produced by Rahki.
Something tells me Curren$y is unaware that this # is called a hashtag. On “#JetsGo” he raps “pound sign jets go” and he is certainly not incorrect in his language, but for someone who smokes like Curren$y smokes, one would think he would have some wordplay for “hashtag” – #justsaying.
It's going to be another hazy summer for the record books.
