After releasing an amalgam of collected singles and tangential tracks to one LP earlier this year, Dead Gaze aka Cole Furlow has put forth the first single from his upcoming record, due out in under five months since his gorgeous self-titled arrived. “Rowdy Jungle”, a gauzy, dense track from October's Brain Holiday, markets on the unspoken optimism that has always pervaded Furlow's music. The crispy, broad volume of Dead Gaze's previous work is present on this anthemic viber, but is ultimately overpowered by both winsomely magnetic lyrics and a clarity in Furlow's vocals that he's often taken to hiding. With this release, we'll see Dead Gaze making a cohesive path out of his new tracks, and Brain Holiday is unofficially the name for what we'll take every time we listen in.
Stream “Rowdy Jungle” below for your dose of posivibes, then pick up a preorder of the record through FatCat/Palmist before its Oct 22 release. Dead Gaze will be on tour at the places below with Cats Purring companion Dent May.
