Norwegian instrumental psych band unveils blissful new EP
As we push into the summer months, we need some soulful and chilled-out vibes to soundtrack our BBQs, beach visits and time spent relaxing in the heat. Step up Norwegian four-piece Fred Paa Jord, the indie connoisseurs who’s blissful guitar licks first caught our attention with “Byssekel” earlier this year.
They’ve just dropped their full EP Synden & Beyond, a stunning journey through instrumental indie, psychedelic and electronica that demonstrates a comprehensive talent and passion for their craft. The project starts with the first single “Bysykkel,” an undeniably gorgeous piece of summer-fueled bliss. There’s elements of improvisation throughout the EP,, with tracks such as “Sommerfugler i Magen” and “Gjengangere” showcasing the bands freestyling ability. The tracks “Bommer Pa Alt” and “Synden & Beyond” showcase the band’s technical ability with analogue synth elements and a gorgeous groove throughout.
It’s a release that evokes pure joy. It’s a tonic for the harder times, a cure for sadness created by an exceptionally skilled set of artists.
