Wedidit dreamweaver Jasper Patterson aka Groundislava has just dropped “Girl Behind the Glass”, the first track off of his upcoming Frozen Throne LP.
A contemplative, synth-drenched steamer, Patterson also gets a little help courtesy of fellow Los Angeles-based R n’ B admirers Rare Times. Billowing melodies atop a head-bobbing bassline, it’s a sparkling groove that knows when to exhale at precisely the right moment.
Strangely refreshing pipes swelter on top of string samples and tinkling accents, creating a deceptively lush soundscape that’ll have you dreaming of smoke spirals and swaddle cloth. Sounds so enveloping that it truly does “hurt to pull away”.
