Kidz in the Hall sign to Duck Down, drop free mixtape

Post Author:

Kidz in the Hall, formerly of the Rawkus persuasion, signed to Duck Down as “the home that could help propel them to the next level.” The Kidz have that Kanye streak for 70s soul samples and fixations on college fucking and boozing. They also really like the word “bougie”. Unlike Kanye, sounds like they made it through registration and graduation (“dropped 40 g's a year for the best degree / now I'm back to spread love in the streets”).

The forthcoming LP The In Crowd has a title that begs a schoolyard brawl with The Cool Kids so we're streaming the mixtape track that sounds like it's ready to start up the fun:

Kidz in the Hall, “Get Busy”

That mixtape, Detention, is downloadable for free here for three days only. Alright, we gotta stream this one too: an uppercrusty sort of battle rap like a Bentley cruising the Merritt Parkway at a cool 80 mph in “an ivy league state of mind.” Forget hustlin, these kats have made it. Welcome to yacht rap.

Kidz in the Hall, “Train of Thoughts”

Naledge and Double-O will release The In Crowd on Major League Entertainment/Duck Down in February.
