Liquid Monk, "Nighttime"

Post Author: Andre G

Detroit act Liquid Monk looks to separate themselves from other bands by eschewing the “band” terminology in the first place. The four piece approaches their artistry in the same manner they believe producers do, aiming to not only curate their own sound, but tailor their hip-hop, electropop and soul-fusing sonic landscapes for the acts they collaborate with.
Such is the case with “Nighttime,” a collaboration with singer Kameryn Odgen. The band says that after performing with Ogden in the summer of 2016, they had looked to put together an original song with her. After they played “Nighttime” for her, the group says she “immediately connected” with the track and began writing to it. He zest for the song is apparent as you hear her voice gliding along the bed of mysterious synths they crafted, radiating a mesmerizing symbiosis with the nocturnal ode.
