Apparently there are bands from Canada who have balls.
Sharing their name with my favorite baseball team — at least phonetically — Toronto's Metz bring the raw, early 90s hardcore sludge back with a vengeance. Culling from Sub Pop's early catalog (think Melvins, Dwarves, Bleach era), these Canucks have been spewing the noise to great reception for the better part of two years.
Now they've just released their third and final 7-inch in a trilogy of We Are Busy Bodies singles, and it's a raw spectacle to behold. Pressed on marbled purple vinyl, the “Negative Space” 7-inch is limited to 500 copies and, as the marketing department would say, are moving fast!
As a nice gesture, Metz and label are giving away both songs (B-side is “Automat”) digitally for free up at the We Are Busy Bodies website. It's only for a week, so act fast. We've already done you the favor of posting the title track here, we highly suggest you grab both songs, or just buy the damn vinyl.
