Naomi Pilgrim, “Sink Like A Stone”

Swedish-Barbadian singer Naomi Pilgrim has been relatively silent since releasing her self-titled debut EP in January 2014, but she’s back with “Sink Like A Stone”. The energetic track is electro-pop with a conscience, as Pilgrim expresses her solidarity with oppressed people worldwide.

“I am a silent sister… I’m just angry,” the singer proclaims. Nearly every bar of the song is a nod to a particular plight, but her entrancing voice and catchy hook keep the listener engaged. The song is impeccably balanced, the rare track with enough melody and thump to find space in a DJ’s set while speaking on pressing issues that may not be immediately on a party-goers mind.

“Sink Like a Stone” is the title-track from Pilgrim’s upcoming second EP, which will be available later this spring. You can stream the single below.
