Last I reported on Sene he dropped a collaborative album with Swiss producer NoGames and I made a brief mention of a future collaboration with J57 of Brown Bag All-Stars. It turns out that project was closer than expected.
The full length Sene:57 album won't bless our ears until 2011, so the duo broke us off with an EP to give us a taste of sounds to come. Brought to us by Okayplayer.com, Eye Don't Dream… But I Do is a five track EP that has Sene doing his usual day dreaming and cool boy musings over the sultry soul sounds of J57 beats. The most fitting example from the EP is “theTorch” as Sene builds his metaphors into mini-fables of lavish eccentricities, then ropes it back in with a quest for a damn good meal of filet mignon and mashed potatoes.
