The boys of Brooklyn band Teen Commandments have graced us with their new single, “American Special,” a synthpop throwback to all things New Wave, heavy on the Talking Heads nostalgia. The track is about American mediocrity, and its light-heartedly cynical lyrics speak volumes on the subject, likely to resonate with more than a few cooped-up city-dwellers. It's always extra refreshing when a band can simultaneously exude an air of fun and deliver a substantial message, and Teen Commandments have it covered.
