If verboseness were a competition, The Act of Estimating as Worthless would already be winning by band name alone. Along with this debut track for “Popolopen” and an album called Circadian Tremors, there are enough buzz words flying around that it feels like this could be an elaborate spelling bee or a floral Victorian novel. Either way, the mood is set us right as rain with the unsteady pacing of an untraditional folk song that bleats and builds to a high-toned string pitch that is reminiscent of a run through a wild meadow of dandelions. There are some noodly guitar parts and doubled-up vocal harmonies that serve the song through its larger moments, and as it comes to a close, its density doesn't feel so troublesome after all.
