Spanish-English punk band unleashes dizzying new single off upcoming LP

After more than a year of lockdowns and no live shows, Spanish-English quartet The Pulsebeats are back to deliver their fast, infectious garage rock sound with new single “(She Sings Like) Joey Ramone.” The track is the band’s return to music following the release of their sophomore album Fiction Non-fiction back in 2018.

“(She Sings Like) Joey Ramone” sees the band pick it up where they left off, with a high energy punk-leaning sound filled with Luis Ibanez and Nathan Whittles’ distorted guitar riffs, Alejandro Santos’ rumbling bassline and Ral Garcia’s thumping drums. The chorus is a catchy crowd chant of “Sings like Joey, Joey Ramone” before Ibanez’s electrifying guitar riff enters in the post-chorus.

According to The Pulsebeats’ lead singer Whittle, “‘(She Sings Like) Joey Ramone’ focuses on the idea of adulation, a fixation on and recreation of another self to the point that the individual is consumed and becomes another idol themselves.”

The band are set to release their forthcoming album Lookin’ Out on the 13th November through FOLC Records. Give “(She Sings Like) Joey Ramone a spin below:
