American Football, one of early emo's best noodly-jazz bands, will be releasing their only record, a self-titled masterpiece from 1999, in a deluxe reissue this spring. If you weren't privy to the best Kinsella brother's record during those early years, it still holds up, as it has some of those early hints of emo but with Mike Kinsella and Steve Holmes' brilliant prog-ish guitars. It will come with unreleased demos, live recordings, and other unreleased material, and can be picked up on vinyl, cassette, CD, or digitally, so all your bases are covered.

Here is an unreleased demo called “Untitled #1 (The One With The Trumpet)” [Boombox Practice Session, 1998]. The whole thing comes out on Polyvinyl on May 20.
