In the wild subsubculture of Baltimore's music scene, many alternate projects and side bands emerge. Future Islands, a known synthpop staple among Baltimorians, has branched off before to create the slimy hat-wearing rebrand called The Snails, and in keeping with the nature of the muddy molluscs, only played ten shows and then disappeared. It seems that The Snails have finally come out to play with the upcoming release of their debut EP, Worth the Wait, on Friends Records. The cover is a collage of fan-submitted artwork and the first track, “Coconut Boat”, is available to stream below while you preorder the full thing here. But the most exciting part is that The Snails will set out on a short East Coast tour to accompany their new EP. Visit them at these dates below and don't be alarmed if you get a little slimy.
