Nearly four years ago, we sent a writer and former Boisean to Treefort Music Festival to report his findings. He left with an overwhelming sense of hometown pride. Now, Treefort Music Festival is known as an annual music and arts gathering featuring over 400 bands plus film, art, comedy, and yoga across multiple venues in downtown Boise. But when Dale Eisinger wrote of that inaugural year with complimentary gusto, it was laying the foundation. “Somehow, Boise’s first foray into tier-1 market models was beyond a success, the kind of ‘first’ ready to spin out of control in the annals of oral rock myth due to moments you were not present for, will not remember, and will have no way to verify when they become the incendiary ‘were you there for … ?’ memes. It was a beautiful, tightly wound, and well-organized mess. Look: no one was sure it would work, but it really worked.”
Keep those words in mind in planning your 2016 spring vacation plans. Keep Boise on your mind. Treefort Music Festival announced its initial 2016 lineup today, which includes Aesop Rock, Alex G, Chelsea Wolfe, Charles Bradley & His Etraordinaires, Hinds, Youth Lagoon, and Thee Oh Sees. Impose regulars will recognize inclusions like Ohio’s All Dogs, Wax Idols, Oddisee, and Porches. There will be more announcements to come, but for now we suggest acting on the five-day passes at $159 a pop. Come March 1 the price will increase as single day passes go on sale.
Purchase Treefort 2016 passes and stay updated on more announcements at the Treefort Music Festival website.
Treefort Music Festival runs from March 23-27, 2016.
