Boston-based neo-punk electronica quartet Bat House recently released a new self-titled 10-track stunner. In honor of that, they’ve curated a little playlist for us entitled “Space”, which we deem to be mostly self-explanatory. Check it out!
.) “Door to the Cosmos” Sun Ra “After his extraterrestrial experience in the 1930s, Sun Ra dedicated his life to writing interstellar space music.”
.) “Life on Mars” David Bowie “Life on Mars’ is the quintessential space anthem. It’s completely mandatory to have on a space themed playlist.”
.) “Flying Microtonal Banana” King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard “These microtones play games with your mind.”
.) “Rocket Man” Elton John “The tune captures the isolating feel of space. Quintessential space anthem part two.”
.) “Refractions in the Plastic Pulse” Stereolab “A seventeen minute cosmic odyssey.”
.) “#3” Aphex Twin “Tranquil just like the vast nothingness of (you guessed it) space.”
.) “Turya & Ramakrishna” Alice Coltrane “Some metaphysical blues to accompany your fly by of Saturn.”
.) “Third Stone From The Sun” Jimi Hendrix “An extraterrestrial’s retrospective on planet Earth. Basically, humans drool and aliens rule.”
.) “Space Junk” DEVO “When the space crap hits the fan.”
.) “Empire Ants” Gorillaz, Little Dragon “A black hole lullaby.”
