PEP, "Get Physical"

Post Author: Sophie Kemp

PEP‘s new video for their song “Get Physical” is so sweet it will give you a toothache. The Brooklyn based bubblegum pop band makes music that’s inspired by the girl groups of the ’60s. When you hear “Get Physical” it’s hard not to think of the Shangri-Las and the Ronettes. The track is melodic, featuring the gorgeous front vocals of Karys Rhea and smartly arranged backing vocals of Ilana Webber and Christina Connerton.

Aesthetically, the video is a pastel wonderland: featuring the three vocalists of the band in dreamy vintage lingerie, listening to records and goofing off around two men. “Get Physical” is a 2010s update on the dreamiest part of the ’60s, both the song and video are twee to a t. PEP makes music that is guaranteed to make you want to have a pillow fight with your friends.
PEP is set to perform at famed Brooklyn venue, Rough Trade on March 16th. More details here.
