We don't say this often, but Les Savy Fav really deserves the best after party IMPOSE can give them for all the work they've done to support it. They've hit up the big-wig blogs, they've pumped out a new video, not to mention one of those zany fan video contests (It's a lip-synching child! Ahh! There's
another one!). They're even putting an album out today.Highlights from their promotional campaign in support of Friday's after party:
STEREOGUM: Do you know of any other musicians with home and apparel lines?
TH: Not yet, but I think it could be a new trend. Like all the musicians who are also DJs, or make t-shirts, or run record labels. Dudes will be like: “Have you seen my bathmats?”
PITCHFORK: Favorite New Band?
I should be like, “The greatest new band? Have you heard Interpol?!” [laughs] I do like their packaging, someone just showed me the CD, and boy, the thing looks good. I don't know what the music on it is about, but the CD is matte and it says their name in shininess on it. It's, like, the classiest act I've ever seen. I should've been like, “The best record I've bought is that Interpol record; I really love the packaging.”
