Number's new video for “Mind Hole”, which was an exclusive on Stereogum yesterday (despite floating on YouTube a few days earlier), lowers us into their galaxy like a slow moving UFO, panning lazily around their sunny, San Francisco-based faces and coasting through shimmering christmas light galaxies and Warholian silkscreen triptychs. It suites the epic distances Numbers succeed in traversing through a four and a half minute pop song, using the same melodic hooks in delicate post-rock piano through grumbling guitar entreaties and into a noisy, triumphant indie pop.
Their album, Now You Are This, is out August 21 on Kill Rock Stars.
