Available today from Fake Four Inc.—we are proud to present a first listen to Zavala’s big debut album Fantasmas where the Chicago producer takes the listener deep down in to the worlds that boarder upon the edges where analog & digital artifices meet & conjoin as one. From Onry Ozzborn collaborations from Grayskul to create Dark Time Sunshine that saw releases like Believeyoume, Vessel, Cornucopia, tours with Aesop Rock, DJ Abilities, Pigeon John, Sole & numerous others; Zavala’s latest audio breakthroughs mirror the album art of Michael Scheel where pop art shapes & smoky swirls & spirals can be heard through electronic arrangements & designs themselves.
Fantasmas opens up the observances of “Mirrors”, that then kicks into the gear of “The INS”, to the empty cistern like echoing resonances of “Floats Like Empty”. The experimental aspect of Zavala’s work can be heard in full force on “Ruemair & FTW”, that illuminates further on “Chrysalis” ft. Sara Z, that grooves even deeper on “The IFS”. The rhythms ride even wilder on “ARPDreamth”, raging further on “Protection Cloak”, right before “Roosevelt & Letting Go” brings the lights out with the sound & sensation of letting go of everything that burdens you. Zavala provided us with the following exclusive introduction to Fantasmas:

Fantasmas is a collection of songs that each pertain to specific personal experiences. It’s An attempt to qwel what it is to be haunted by the memories of those experiences. A theraputic exercise of memory re-calibration & objective cleansing of self.
