Katie Gallagher is a tiny blonde 20-something whizkid RISD grad doing that kind-of-hippie-goth-witch thing pretty much better than anyone else, and the fact that all of her collections start out as sketches and paintings (like the one here from last Spring's collection, “Shroud”) makes me think she's even more rad.
Her FW 2010 collection, titled “The Heart of the Woods and What I Found There,” included plenty of black and grey, paneled leggings with mixed textures, and architectural jackets. But it's her Rodarte-esque neurotic attention to every last detail that makes everything so impressive: crazy geometric-heeled shoes, fake nails that looked like wax melting off tree branches, the models' zombie-esque walk, and red eyeshadow with Frankenstein-scar-esque eyeliner.
Here are some of the Fuji Instax polaroids I snapped during the presentation.
