Partisan Records may be home to softer outputs like Pure Bathing Culture and nerdier ones like The Dismemberment Plan, but with the recent addition of Leeds band Eagulls, things are about to change. The group embodies the sharp postpunk sound that we've been fiending for but not getting in the variety of bands who are trying too hard. This feels authentic, caustic, and incredibly unforgiving—it may be adding a little darkness to the Partisan roster, but when it's straight out of Leeds and engaging in the shallow echo of a grimy, sliced-up guitar, we know it's a worthy changeup.
Eagulls will be releasing their full-length in 2014, but right now you can settle for an ice-cold 7″ out on September 30 at this link.
