Julian Lynch's ever-dreamy songwriting doesn't disappoint with the anthem-caliber new title “In New Jersey”.
Of the many Underwater Peoples, Lynch has been a stand-out New Jerseyian, repping suburban Ridgewood with pride usually reserved for the great American heartland or an urban jungle. Of course, most of America calls the suburbs their heartland, so it was only a matter of time and chance that a skilled weaver of sonic tapestries like Lynch would rise above the chafe and come up with some ode to a theme that's been the source of angst and youth revolt since proto-punk emerged.
Pretty much the doo-wop opposite of smoke bombs in the school bathroom and leather jackets.
Also, way to throw a rad sax solo in the mix!
