“These Shadows”, a track from the upcoming Wooden Shjips record, Back To Land, gets the acoustic treatment in what is being presented as a sort-of B-side. When you preorder the full record, you'll get the 7″ of this track in with your quotient of music to burn out to. Though “These Shadows” is being presented as an acoustic alternative to the original, there is a hefty dose of dominating electric guitar solos that elevate the softness and melody-driven slowjammer to a level that we're familiar with, a turf that Wooden Shjips is used to playing on. It only raises the question, “So what does the original sound like?” Tune out to it below, then pick up a preorder to Back To Land through Thrill Jockey at this link. Wooden Shjips are out on tour starting November 8, and this record is set to release on November 12.
