Geoff Barrow, founding member of Portishead, has a specific mission in BEAK>, a trio with keyboard/noisist Matt Williams and bassist Billy Fuller.
Barrow's on drums. It's more of a concept group then a band. They recorded their debut album over 12 days in one room, no overdubs, “only using edits to create arrangements.” The results are a sometimes dreamy, minimal and Kraut-summoning excursion into instrumental repetition and delay-heavy chant song. The record is out in the UK/Europe on Barrow's Invada Records, and on Ipecac in November in the states.
