Truly Orgiastic Pop Song. That’s probably not what TOPS stands for, but with their new track “Change of Heart” it may as well be. The first side of an upcoming 7”, the surprisingly long pop-ditty is cute enough to soundtrack falling in love, melancholic enough to soundtrack your post-break up depression, and timeless enough to play at your daughter’s Bat Mitzvah 15 years later. This shit should be in a John Hughes movie.
The Montreal foursome also released a video for the track, which you can watch over at Gorilla Vs. Bear. “Wasting, wasting a chance you’re chasing / why are you so afraid to face it?” Fuck if I know, TOPS, but you got me pegged.
